Nicki Yarwick, a 23 year old San Diego native, is an aspiring local artist who started bringing her artwork into the public eye early 2015. Last year, Nicki earned her bachelor's degree in studio arts from San Diego State University. Since her recent graduation, she has participated in group art shows at La Bodega Gallery, Thumbprint Gallery 2, Space 4 Art, and the Banker's Hill Art & Craft Beer festival. A majority of her art is influenced by growing up near the ocean, subjects like killer whales, an octopus, waves, mermaids, and beach sunsets appear in her oil paintings. Nicki is inspired by the influential art of Salvador Dali, Caravaggio, and Bernini.

In addition to painting, Nicki is a tattoo apprentice at Federation Ink in North Park. She is pursuing a career as a tattoo artist, but wants to continue painting and participating in gallery shows like her mentor Keith Greene. The tattoo shop has an art gallery vibe because Nicki and Keith have filled the walls with their paintings. Her vision is to someday open her own Christian tattoo shop that will be a light to the community and use tattoo's to share God's word with others. She is thankful for her parents who have been supportive of her career path in the art industry and continue to encourage her throughout this journey.
